At the ripe old age of 12, Jerrod Flusche picked up a guitar and hasn’t cut it loose since the music came pouring out of it. Flusche’s musical journey of well over a decade began in the punk scene in Dallas and Fort Worth at renowned venues such as The Door, Trees and the like. In 2007, he dove into a different scene, country music. Jerrod began playing lead guitar for acts such as Tom McElvain and various cover bands for a few years, when his journey took a slightly different turn from the North Texas scene he was accustomed to, straight to Austin, Texas.
Austin, Texas is known for being a city rich with music of all genres, and Jerrod jumped headfirst into the scene. He began touring with Breelan Angel in 2011 and picked up a steady gig playing on the famous 6th street for Mike Valliere and Kristopher Schoen. While with Breelan Angel, Flusche got the chance to record at EAR studios with producer James Stevens, as well as recording the song “It’s My Turn” which can be found on iTunes, at Matchbox Studios with Dwight Baker.
In 2013, Jerrod got on board with one of the hottest acts in the Texas music scene; Sam Riggs and The Night People. Flusche jumped right in and never slowed down, taking part in successes of the band such as:
* “When The Lights Go Out” - reached #1 on the CMT Countdown
* “Angola’s Lament”- top 10 hit on the Texas Music Chart
* “Hold on and Let Go”- currently another top 10 on the Texas charts
* Outrun The Sun- produced by Erik Herbst at Panhandle House in Denton, TX
In mid- 2014, Jerrod melded his guitar skills with a band that is also making big waves in Texas music; Dolly Shine. This group is known for a high energy show and they are taking the Texas music world by storm while Flusche continues to shine in the lead guitar role. Most recently, they have played festivals such as Rhymes and Vines, Rednecks with Paychecks, and opened huge shows for top acts like Cody Johnson, Brandon Rhyder and many more.
Flusche has a career filled with success and continuously wows the crowd onstage with Dolly Shine, and his solo act promises to be the same. His songwriting weaves stories into melodies and leaves you wanting to hear more from this multi-talented artist. Take it from the man himself, “… having the ability to write and record music is a dream come true for me. Having the ability to turn my ideas and other’s ideas into something that people can turn on and relate to is so important to me…” 2015 promises to be a big year for Jerrod Flusche in his solo career, following the November 2014 release of “The Dark”, written by Sofia Cantiello. There’s no slowing down for Flusche, when he’s not touring with the band, you can find him working on his craft of guitar shredding and songwriting. Make a resolution for 2015 to catch him in action, you may just find your new favorite song.
