BARRY DUNAWAY is a gifted and versatile singer and bass player who’s career started at the age of 12 on stage with his big brother, Don, in Miami, FL. Through the years, Barry has continued to hone his musical passion and is currently a permanent band member of .38 Special. Barry has had the pleasure to record/tour/play with such notables as .38 Special, The Guess Who, Survivor, Yngwie Malmsteen, Pat Travers Band, Saraya, Whiteface and Riggs. Barry has also played, and/or recorded with these amazingly talented singers: Joe Lynn Turner (Rainbow-Deep Purple), Alex Ligertwood (Santana), Mike Reno (Loverboy), Bill Champlin (Chicago), Derek Sharp (The Guess Who), Jimi Jamison (Survivor), Steve Augeri (Journey) Skip Martin (Kool & the Gang), Dennis deYoung (Styx), Brett Michaels (Poison), Edgar Winter, Jimmy Hall, Sass Jordan and Taylor Dayne among others.
Barry has also recorded and shared the stage with guitar heroes including: Pat Thrall, Pat Travers, Doug Aldrich, Jerry Riggs, John Jorgensen, Rick Derringer and Yngwie Malmsteen. And, speaking of Yngwie, in the 1980-90’s, Barry had the special honor of touring with Yngwie Malmsteen through US, Canada, Japan, South America, Europe and Russia including the “Odyssey” Tour in 1989, “Fire and Ice Tour in 1992, “Inspiration” Tour in 1996 and “Facing the Animal” Tour in 1998.
And, as far as drummers go, Barry has also worked with some of the world’s best. Including Tommy Aldridge (Ozzy Osbourne), Ansley Dunbar (Whitesnake), Artimus Pyle (Lynyrd Skynyrd), Charlie Morgan (Elton John), John Macaluso (TNT) and the late Cozy Powell (Black Sabbath-Jeff Beck), who Barry was honored to record with shortly before his untimely death.

In 1992, Barry moved from NYC to Florida and now lives in paradise, with his wife, Lydia, their two Jack Russell terriers & five cats where Barry continues to tour, write & record his own music in his St. Augustine studio.
