Dave Hooper and The Corporate Monkeys / Bio

Dave Hooper and The Corporate Monkeys are based in Austin, and have been performing together since late in 2009. The members include songwriter Dave Hooper on vocals, guitar, and harmonica; songwriter Steve Brooks on vocals, guitar, and mandolin; Dean Stinsmuehlen on bass and vocals, and A.J. Montrose on snare and percussion. They are sometimes joined by vocalist Paula Russell. Although they they have only performed in this lineup since 2009, the members individually have decades of experience both together and in other groups.
Dave Hooper has performed locally since 1990, but has been a professional musician since the early 1970s, and has recorded five solo albums. Steve Brooks, a nationally renowned songwriter, also has a solo career and his own band, The Purgatory Road Playboys. Dean Stinsmuehlen has been performing around Austin since the 1970s and has appeared on Austin City Limits with Balcones Fault. A.J. Montrose, as well as being a well rounded percussionist is also known as a photographer and artist. And Paula Russell, a versatile vocalist, has had a long and successful career as an actress.
Dave Hooper and The Corporate Monkeys' CD, "Train Wreck", has been receiving favorable reviews and local airplay, and features guest artists Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Maryann Price, Donna Fala, and ex-Byrd John York.
