Born on July 1, 1986 in Marietta, GA, Randall Rashad Vanzant, a.k.a. "RVz" was
said to have been "born to breath music." His first inspirations came from his family's
christian singing backround. He began singing in his church choir at age 6 and soon
after began writing lyrics for his own songs. At just 8 years old, Rashad and two of
his best friends wrote their first song called "Tonight is the Night." He attended music
classes at Compton Elementary in Powder Springs, GA, where his passion for music was
noticed by teachers and peers and he was encouraged to explore his remarkable talent.
Later, he joined chorus and gospel choirs at Tapp Middle School and McEachern High
School. When Rashad turned 16, he and two of his biggest musical influences (Douglas
Whatley and Nedras Moreland) helped put together a youthful gospel group called "The
Experience." They traveled and performed at churches and youth explosion events across
the southeast for four years.
Rashad had more dreams to pursue and at 20 years old, decided to branch off to work
on a solo R&B project called "Emotions" with a new name RVz. "RVz" was branded!
He wrote and arranged every song on his solo project. A year later, RVz connected with
some peers and colleagues to name a few, JaBari Taylor, Chaz Mason, Keesha Dement,
and K-City gave inspiration from other types of musical backrounds to accel his writing
skills. He started writing in other genres, like Pop, Neo-Soul, and Rap music. In doing so,
he modified his career preference and decided to pursue a career in writing music and has
been making classic hits ever since. He has had a number of accomplishments over time
and has worked with numerous big-name producers and writers in the music industry.
In 2008, Manuel Seal presented a deal to RVz. He has worked and is currently working
with Anthony Dent, Grand Hustle, Noontime, and Street Love.
