This singer/songwriter was raised in a small country town in beautiful upstate New York. At the early age of 3 she started singing in church with her brother Darin. When she would sing he would at times say, “Why do you have to do that thing with your voice?”
From the old Lincoln automobile parked on the front lawn of the farmhouse, you could hear Grandpa Noah singing with the country greats playing on his 8-track. Shareen would run to the car just to listen in and for a chance to sing along. Her heart for country music began to grow.
Shareen’s influences are Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire, Martina McBride and Lee Ann Womack. However, she has a unique sound all her own, but don’t let that sultry and smooth tone fool you. Underneath is a powerful sound just waiting to come out. Shareen began singing at some of the top venues in Music City. She also sings backup for some of Nashville’s aspiring artists and bands and is a sought-after session vocalist.
Today, Shareen is bringing a new flavor to traditional country music, trying to take it back to its roots. She is gathering material, co-writing with other songwriters and writing songs herself that touch the heart and soul, make you laugh, think, and sometimes cry. Shareen says, “Music is the universal language and I believe that I can ‘speak’ to the world when I sing. It’s truly amazing. Lord willing I will do this for the rest of my life!”
