Synesthesia / Bio

Synesthesia: A merging of the senses.

Formed in 2008, Synesthesia is a Hard rock/Metal band out of Chesapeake, Virginia. Their musical style draws inspiration from acts such as Tool, Faith No More, Meshuggah, and Sevendust, invoking a sound that is dark, technical, and melodic that when combined with emotionally driven lyrics, leave the listener either in awe, or ready to throw down. With songs that range from the short and in your face to wildly progressive, epic, and emotional; Synesthesia takes your eyes and ears on an eclectic journey that demands you take full notice. Although newly formed, its members have played hundreds of shows, highlighted by such venues as the Whiskey a Go Go in Los Angeles, and CBGB's in New York City. They've toured the country several times, opening for Metal heavy hitters like Death Angel, Strapping Young Lad, Killswitch Engage, Lacuna Coil, and Hatebreed. They also have extensive recording experience, releasing a combined 5 albums, one of which was nominated for best rock album at the 2005 San Diego Music awards. In 2006 they made it to the top 12 out of thousands of entries in the battle for Ozzfest (LA) and even got some airtime on the TV program. In summation, Synesthesia is an up and coming power house, that is quickly becoming one of Hampton Roads most talked about bands.
