Vexillum born in 2004 from the will of Michele Gasparri (guitar) to play a Power Metal with folk inluences that he likes, an enthralling metal, powerful and enjoyable.
In 2006, after several line-up changes and a fair live activity, he met Dario Vallesi (vocals) and the Vexillum (known in that time as Shadow Vexillum) recorded their first EP titled “Neverending Quest” with AC at the drums and Liuck at the bass guitar.
To realize this demo, the band avail itself of some collaborations, in primis with Alessio Lucatti (Vision Divine) for the keyboards part, and with Federico Puleri (Vision Divine) as guest guitar in the song “Rising from the Ruins”, while they entrust the cover and booklet artwork to Riccardo Iacono (Domine).
In this time, the band takes the chance to change the name in the moniker “Vexillum”.
Unfortunately Dario and Michele became orphans of the rhythmic session right at the end of the recording, so the search for new elements begins.
They decide to add a second guitar, and they found it in Andrea Calvanico.
For the bass guitar and the drums they entrust respectively Francesco Saverio Ferraro and Francesco Girardi.
At the beginning of 2010, they enter in studio to record their first full lenght album, titled “The Wandering Notes”.
Also for this album, the band decides to have several collaborations, between whom stands out the one with Fabio Lione (Rhapsody of Fire, Vision Divine) that guests in the track “The Traveller”, and again Alessio Lucatti (Vision Divine) for the keyboards.
In January 2011 “The Wandering Notes” debuts with the My Graveyard Productions and the band
will be the official opener for Rhapsody of Fire’s European tour, expected for the February 2011.
The Vexillum have now the chance to make their own music listened in the whole Europe, and it happens in the best way, with the crowd and the critic eager of the Italian band!
