Singer/songwriter, Natalie Mishell, is excited to announce that she will be releasing her first full-length record, Goodnight Stranger, which she recorded at Mark Dann Studios in NYC and is being produced by JP Bowersock (Ryan Adams and The Strokes). This is the first release since her debut EP, Natalie Mishell; In My Shoes, in 2010 which was produced by Rich Pagano and featured Steve Conte on guitar and John Graboff on pedal steel guitar. Natalie followed that release with a successful east coast tour for which she received Triple A radio play, great reviews and high-profile NYC appearances.
Natalie was born and raised in sunny southern California where she grew up listening to music in a home filled with the songs and vibes of the late 60’s and early 70’s, from Dylan and Joplin to the British Invasion. By 19 she had taught herself how to play guitar, moved to LA and began writing songs that drew on her personal experiences and the inspiration of her old school, folk-pop roots. After some time spent in LA and touring the USA in 2009 with her first band, Traditional Matter, Natalie decided it was time for a change. She came to NY about four years ago with her incredible vocals, her guitar and dreams. She burst on the music scene and quickly became a fan favorite at many of the local venues in NYC such as Rockwood Music Hall and The Living room. In concert Natalie connects with her audiences through her style of storytelling and her unique americana vocals. From her heartfelt ballads to her upbeat rockers Natalie knows her audience.
In 2011 Natalie put together the band, Natalie Mishell & Co, which features Mishell on guitar/lead vocals, Troy Fannin on lead guitar/backing vocals, Billy Grant on Keys, Tony Oppenheimer on Bass, Neil Nunziato on drums and her newest addition Neeley Bridges on Mandolin/backing vocals. In concert Natalie tears at heart strings with songs that matter, feeding off the energy around her, and living her songs as she writes them. With the backing power of her band and the release of her new record “Goodnight Stranger”, Natalie is ready to take her energy filled show back on the road.
