Formed in 2008, Split Five brings to life what most musical groups often forget…. Why they started playing music to begin with! The answer to that question is simple for these musicians and is the essence of what this group is all about, to have fun! With over 30 years cumulative experience in the music industry, Split Five has learned that once you lose touch of what it was you enjoy about making music, you lose the passion, energy, and life in each song. This love for writing, playing, and performing music is what brought these four brothers together and it shows through each and every performance.
“You know if Split 5 is in the house, it's always [a] good [time]. If you don't have a blast, it's all on yourself not to enjoy this band.”
Split Five knows how to party, sure, but the boys take the business very seriously and know how to apply a strong work ethic to what they do. Of course they have the dream of traveling the world, playing festivals, arenas, and making ten albums but Split Five knows it takes passion, patience, hard work, and determination. With the release of their debut EP “Sumthin’ bout Heels” the group showed that fun, melodic rock is still alive. Currently taking the Baltimore area by storm, one show at a time, it won’t be long before Split Five gets into regular rotation in your cd player. Having sold out of their first batch of cd’s just from sales at local shows, the boys are aggressively wrapping up pre-production on several new tunes and plan to record new material as well as a music video for the newest single very soon.
“I listened to the Split Five cd for the first time a week ago… I still haven’t taken it out of my car! Every chorus is so hooky, you just can’t help but sing along!”
As the boys often like to say when introducing themselves, “We are four friends, and we like to make music.” That’s what it all boils down to! So, do you like to have fun? Do you enjoy seeing live music? Do you like hanging out with outgoing, energetic people? Do you like to party? If you answered yes to any or all of the above, then Split Five is a must-see show for you!
