Joyce Hamilton-Whitson has been singing since the age of 4. Her actual music career in terms of writing and singing the songs that she and her brothers wrote together began around 1996. She stepped out in faith into her full-time music ministry in 2004 until 2007 when circumstances beyond her control caused her to have to put her ministry on hold. However, being saturated in the ministry during this time period and going through hard times helped her gain a broader knowledge of just how much we ALL need the Lord.
Joyce Hamilton-Whitson (formerly Joyce Vaught) had two children, her oldest child, Brian Michael Vaught passed away due to a rare genetic disorder in 1996. Joyce went through a divorce after almost 27 years of being with her husband. Her son Zach Vaught has always been that ‘constant source of stability’ in her life where family was concerned and has given her the courage to ‘walk on’ even in the midst of life ‘happening’.
Joyce went through several years of being alone and doing a great deal of soul-searching and has come to the realization that being involved in the ministry of hurting people is undoubtedly the calling the Lord has placed on her life. There is nothing Joyce enjoys more than ministering to lost and hurting people and helping them understand that God really DOES Love them... She knows this to be true from His faithfulness to her throughout her own trials...
She believes that God continues to call her into the music ministry – and as much as she loves to sing… she loves to minister even more! Her life has been all about ‘life lessons’ and taking time to reflect on the lessons she has learned through every experience in her life… good and/or bad!
Joyce is now married to a wonderful man, Chuck Whitson, who ‘has his fingerprints all over her back’ and continues to encourage her on a regular basis to get back to the passion that God has given her in the ministry.
Joyce is ready to ‘walk on’ and ‘move forward’ into whatever God has planned for her life and she knows that she’s not going it alone. That it is God that is by her side every moment of every day and his mercies are new every morning.
