Inch of Dark is a four piece hard rock band currently hailing from Austin, TX. Originally formed in early 2010 in Vail CO, Inch of Dark drinks from Rock, Metal and Blues and spits it back in your face with modern hard rock flair. I.O.D.’s mainstream yet uncompromising original sound appeals to both the casual listener and to those with a more advanced ear. As described by Heather Savage of rocknrollview.com –
“Their overall sound and amazing songwriting touch is action packed. All songs are a skillful combination of Alternative Rock and Hard Rock. Music will remind you of Jon Foreman, Kyuss, Hawk Nelson and Falling Up. I can also hear Disturbed and Alice in Chains.”
I.O.D. just finished up tracking their 2nd EP, “SOLACE” at Mesa Studios with Owner/Producer Rob Hinton. The long awaited EP follows the 2011 debut EP Chapter No. 1. and marks a milestone the band has been reaching to attain. Since the loss of original bassist Garrett Parvin to a fatal motorcycle accident in 2013 the band has undergone multiple lineup changes and has struggled to regain momentum. SOLACE is expected to be released in August and will bring some closure to the ups and downs of the last few years.
The band recently returned from a few dates in the Houston area. I.O.D. was well received with the hopes of returning soon. They look forward to hitting the road to branch out regionally as they continue to grow their fanbase.
From Michael Keith’s review from allwhatsrock.com sums it up -
“Whether it’s musically, lyrically, inspirationally, emotionally, spiritually – if you feel like music is taking us in the wrong direction than rest assured Inch of Dark is taking us back in the right direction.”
