About Sarah Castro and her Music
So I’m supposed to write a Biography right here, in this blank space. Now you are reading it expecting an impressive story. Some people hire someone else to write about their impressive stories. I do not. DIY. So I’ll talk about myself through my eyes. I can tell you this, I’ve moved around a lot, over thirty times. I’ve lived and played music in Portland, LA, San Francisco, Austin, and towns in between. Born in Arcata, California.
My suggestion is to listen to my music before you read my bio or make any conclusions. Because, although I may think my life is interesting and exciting I can’t say you’ll agree. So as you will find I’m not going to write about, well, much of my life.
I do know that I am a good singer and a good songwriter. I’m not bad at the instruments that I choose to pick up. Music I’ve worked very hard at. Music makes my life make sense. That sounds 1. Dramatic and 2. Serious
I’m not a very serious person. I like to be silly. I’m not a sad person although I tend to write sad songs. Funny how that works.
The comparing of the musicians:
I’m going to do what every musician loves to do (insert sarcasm); Sarah Castro sounds like… Hmm, well… I tend to write mellow dramatic, haunting music, with a twist of grit and rock. I like to rock, but I find my best songs are the softer songs. So I try to mix it up.
I like all types of music. Please don’t ask that question... Okay, I'll name a few. The Black Key, The Coasters, Ella Fitzgerald, The Monks, Heartless Bastards, Bon Ivar, Sia. Of course many more.
Sarah's life story:
Now, I can go on and on about my past successes and failures but if you listen to my music you will find a story or two of Sarah Castro.
I hope you like it. But if not, that's okay too.
