J Gulli / Bio

J Gulli was born in Chicago, IL. "Music is my passion. Not being able to (re) produce it would leave a void in my life that could never be filled ". And J Gulli has evolved many times over as an artist. From being a little kid who loved to make beats, to playing different instruments, to playing in bands. He grew up, toured, and became band leader with Tyrone Blatcher who later co-wrote "Slow Dance" with Michael Jefferson and R. Kelly. He was a founding member of DMW (Dan, Mark and Wayne). Today, they are known as the Nu Blu Band featuring Carlise Guy (the daughter of legendary guitarist Buddy Guy) He has produced 3 solo albums, and done collaborative projects with Yvonne Gage, produced a hot single entitled "Hold You In My Arms" featuring Guitarist Jerry Knight (formally of Rays Parker Jr. and Raydio) which you can hear on his latest Cd release entitled "Smooth Jams". Gulli also played bass guitar behind Alvin "Twin Time" Cash as a young man and won a spot on Chicago's WGCI' s "Home Jam" talent show for a song he wrote entitled "Open Up Your Heart".

While J Gulli is rooted into R&B music, his experience gives him the flexibility to write and compose in many other genres and all of his solo projects, including lyrics, arranging, composing, lead and background vocals, and all instrumentation or digital programs were performed by him. But his goal is to be a record producer. In no way does he see himself as a solo act or performer. But he welcomes the opportunity to produce music for commercials, movie soundtracks, major recording artists, or those who aspire to be. " If I were to ever perform again, it would be because my fans want it. I am rooted from Soul/R&B music.......the drums and bass guitar sort of set the stage for everything else I do musically. And maybe someday........who knows, I'll go back to performing again. But if not, I'm more than happy to continue writing songs and going into the studio producing great music".
