Iowa native played with Room 101, Ironicals, Cocktail Pricks, Picklehead, Those Pesky Barnacles, Garcia Brothers, The Bloems, Key 34, and Six Ways.
All my songs were written and recorded by me at the "Hardline Studio" Urbandale, Iowa. Now Portland, Oregon. My recording equipment is pretty basic and my vocals are shakey but I am not making excuses. I just really enjoy making music. Since I was really young I had melodies popping into my head and as an adult I have a way to save them.
The songs on this site were written over the past 7 years and if you venture towards the bottom 1/3 of the list you can hear a rookie. Those that I did share had a moment or two but when I had the good fortune of playing them live with the Six Ways Band they came to life. For better or worse I will keep doing this because it feels good to come up with something original.
Here is a somewhat chronological order but in no way all inclusive list of the musicians I listen to and respect the most: Beachboys, anything A.M. radio friendly from the 70s, Elvis Costello, Britt Pop, X, Marshall Crenshaw, Squeeze, 80s college radio, 70's and 80's rock, Paul Westerberg and Weller, and a tip of the cap to my current favorites Josh Rouse and Ryan Adams.
Lastly, I want to thank the guys who have been playing with me for the last 31 years: My big bro Kirk, Michael Bryant, Guy Tensen, Will Sigsbee, Jim Anderson, Steve Craven, Paul Rottenberg, Mark Boals, Ron Wagner and Stu Walker. You all rock!
