Endangered Speeches / Bio

Endangered Speeches, the music of the creative brainchild, Greek MC/singer/composer/arranger Mariletta Konstantara, aims to restore a meaningful message and forward direction to today's music. Rooted equally in hip-hop, jazz fusion and reggae, the Endangered Speeches sound is also characterized chiefly by the unique global sound brought by each one of the incredible musicians that Mariletta works with. Although Drum n’ Bass, Dub, Ska, Soul, Blues, as well as Ethiopian, Middle Eastern, Balkan and Greek music, all contribute toward a diverse sound, the cemented rhythm section, airtight horns, and vocal harmonies build a sound both unbreakable and unmistakable.
Founded in 2008, under the direction of the native Athenian, the project is equipped to bring this signature sound, style, and statement to all the corners of the world. While the band playing the Endangered Speeches music formed at Berklee College of Music, and currently call Boston their collective home, past and present members hail from places as wide-ranging as Canada, Mexico, Norway, Greece, Africa, India, Japan, Brazil, and around United States, each with diverse musical experience.
Now, with three official music videos, the debut album "The City is Rough" , the EP "Dem Borders Will Fall" , and a long list of new original music to be recorded soon, this project is moving determinedly forward, poised to bring this music to the world.
