The youngest of four children, Celdric Alston, known as C.I.D. (Cedric's Inner Demons) was born on November 13th, 1982 in
Mississippi. As a child, C.I.D. spent a lot of time moving from place to place. He has lived in London, England, Virginia Beach, Kansas City, Ohio, Oregon, Kentucky, Fort Lauderdale, Seattle, Charlotte, NC and Charleston SC. Moving from place to place took a lot of adjusting so C.I.D. never really made true friends. He often found himself confined in his own world.
It wasn't until he met childhood friends David & Owen Gallamere in Virginia Beach that his true calling was discovered. The Gallamere brothers had a sister who was into metal bands such as Guns and Roses, Metallica and Black Sabbath. Traditionally speaking it wasn't the "norm" for a young African American male to be into rock, but the music moved C.I.D. in a way that hip hop didn't.
In 1991, C.I.D. moved to Charleston, SC and discovered that his real passion was to write stories, books and movies. When C.I.D. would have writers block he always had music to fall back on as a secondary outlet. His sister played the violin and his brother had a drum set that he would play with when they weren't around. Then one day he picked up a guitar. His neighbor had an acoustic guitar that he let C.I.D. take home. All it took was for C.I.D. to hear Hole's album "Pretty on the
Inside" and it all came around into a full circle as to what he really wanted to do with his life.
C.I.D started teaching himself the guitar and before he knew it he was writing songs and putting it all together around his guitar. Now he was able to take his love of writing and his passion for rock and combine the two.
At the age of 18, C.I.D. left his home to pursue his passion full time.
