I've always heard music in colors. Some of my favorite pieces of music are not only colorful, but I experience them in lush landscapes and beautiful scenery. Listen to "Butterfly" by Herbie Hancock, or "Wrapped Around Your Finger" by the Police, or "No Ordinary Love" by Sade and you'll hear what I mean. These are songs that create such beautiful listening experiences that if they were places I could actually travel to, I would live there forever. I would love to share this experience with others through my own music.
This album is a collection of colorful panoramic landscapes filtered through the modern sounds I experienced growing up in this hip-hop generation. It is also an approach to jazz that seeks to honor the rich tradition of fusion and more recent acid-jazz music.
