Gawker / Bio

Gawker is a genre defying, obnoxious, poignant band hailing from Detroit. They write lyrics about the world around them which includes everything from homelessness and prostitution to being late for work and sexual habits of the mentally challenged. A Gawker show can include punk, metal, funk, pop, or whatever else they feel like playing. Guitarist, Vocalist and Primary Songwriter Michael McMurray brings years of experience as former frontman of Robot Says No. Brooks "Ol' Tom Foolery" Deihl brings an eclectic bass style from a diverse string of former bands that included Psychedelic Space Rock, Punk, Metal, and Hip Hop. They've recently made appearances at The Crimson, New York New York, The New Way, and The People's Art Festival sharing the stage with such venerable acts as Steffie and the Dirty Virgins, Joneskeeper, and Lazerface.
