No one really knows where Laszlo Jones is from. Many doubt he even really knows or
cares, for that matter. When asked, he answers: I’m from right here.
What we do know, is that he spent most of his life travelling around the world. And that
he is as comfortable almost anywhere as he’d be in his own back yard.When asked if
there is a place he calls home, he answers, with a jerk of his eyebrows: “right here!”
When he speaks, it is always striking to see with which ease he switches from a very
downtown Chicago English to a very Parisian French, to a very Milanese Italian, and to

Concerning his music, the same can be said. Laszlo single-handedly wrote, arranged
and produced his record himself. The diversity of his influences is remarkable, and the
ingenuity with which he combines ingredients from styles as different as Jazz, Funk,
Rock, Rnb and good old Pop is striking. On top of all this, his stylish and powerful
vocals coupled with strangely cynical lyrics and a world class production achieve to
give his music a highly original, pleasurable, and distinctive feeling.
His outlook on life is as cynical as his lyrics, and not devoid of a certain sense of
humor. He often prefers a blatant truth to what he refers to, slightly irritated and
