...tearing SW Florida a new one, one fan at a time...
This 4-piece set of whup-ass action figures will warp the boards of your stage in 45 original-rawk-music-laden-minutes flat!
Most people don’t know how to describe them accurately; a problem the band’s members do not share. Whether the boys tear into rock, punk, metal, reggae, country, surf, or the creepy tune that homeless guy keeps humming to himself…it is distinctly their own: it becomes RAWK.
Ghost Dog Ela (rhymes with “fella”) was born deep in the wilds of Lehigh Acres, Florida – in the secluded compound that is both well-stocked at all times, and ably guarded by the band’s namesake…Ela (good doggie…).
Ghost Dog Ela’s songs; for the most part, spew forth from the surf-soaked soul, throat, and fingers of Eric Moran (of Mudwave, and; of course, thePsycho Daddys) – at which point; they are arranged, and “oomphed” by Rob Diaco (a.k.a. “Shreddy Krueger”), who then picks up an axe, and commences ta’ choppin’ (like he did for The Mary Tyler Whores, Johnny Tonight, and Dirty DNA; and does for east-coast punk legends F ). It is then time for Rob DeSantis (founding bassist of We’re All Virus, and Flat Broke, and guitarist of The Lovin' Sporkfull, and Mole Cricket) and crazy-ass drummer R.A. Boesenberg (Masters of the Temple, Cement, Bluestone Sledge, The Tommy Chong Band, People of Earth, Flat Broke, and studio pay-for-play hired gun) to put down the rattle n’ thump…aaaaaAAND, DONE! Another hit song…NEXT!!!
On the occasion of the first official jam as a unit of 4…it clicked so hard, and so quickly, that it was immediately apparent that they must BE. So they went for it, performing their first gig on New Year’s Eve 2010/2011, opening for Snicklefritz…what a birthday!!!
Now, they have spurted their original, grade A, high-energy RAWK upon stages all over southwest Florida (Corky’s and Rocktoberfest in Pt. Charlotte; RackEm Billiards in Cape Coral, and HOWL Gallery/Tat Shop for Downtown Fort Myers’ Music Walk; the Monterey Club in Ft. Lauderdale, to name but a few); sharing the limelight with the area’s finest local talent (...After the Fact, We’re All Virus, Cinder, Snicklefritz, Sunshine & Bullets, .357 String Band, Love In War, 16 Penny, the Smoke Out Kings, Phenomenon Meets Cookbook, Carnival Of Soul, Headway, The Sheffield Crew, Nine Mile Drive, Sister Kill Cycle, Beyondriven, Annihilate Them All, Swamp Gas, Dead Cat Lounge, HOOCH, the Vegas Death Rays, Iodine Sky, Down To Fall, D 15, Bloodwise, Iodine Sky, etc., and so-on, ad infinitum…) and meeting the very coolest people along the way!
The fundamental philosophy of the band is that people want to have a good, up-beat time when they’re out at a show…they want to see something they both won’t forget, and want to see again.
The guys in Ghost Dog Ela understand that it’s hard on the wallet to go out and see a show…it better be worth it! As a result; the band is loud, fun, and not for small children.
Their live set has has to be registered as a lethal weapon; at the same place that black belts have to go to register their hands....wherever the hell THAT is. There is no nonsensical screaming…and; to put it bluntly: they kick-a de AYUSS!
So...listen to a tune or two. Watch a video or three...if you likey, TELL YOUR FRIENDS...that's how you keep the things you enjoy alive!
