With 17 years and 10 albums under his belt in the indie power pop and Bay Area music scene, Well Wishers frontman and brainchild Jeff Shelton shows no signs of slowing down. In fact “Post Modern Romantic”, the 5th full length from Shelton and his loyal collective of contributors, is the Well Wishers’ most rocking, power-house platter to date. Driven by tight, punchy rhythms from drummer and former Spinning Jennies bandmate Nick Laquintano, the album’s 11 tracks deliver a sonic assault of guitars and soaring melodies all punctu-ated by Shelton’s signature vocals and harmonies that recall the best of artists like the Posies, Nada Surf, Bob Mould, Redd Kross, and Cheap Trick. The homage here is topped of by a heartfelt and spiritied cover of the song “Fountains” originally recorded by the revered underground 80’s Canadian punk band The Nils.
Since forming in 2003, the Well Wishers have released four full-length albums - 2004's "Twenty-Four Seven" and 2005's "Under the Arrows" - both on pop-friendly NotLame Records; 2007's post-punk/power pop odyssey "How I Won The War" and 2008's "Jigsaw Days". Based on a solid foundation of melody, songcraft, and the ever important "musical hook", all the Well Wishers' albums offer a warm, full-bodied sound and engaging take on the typical power pop formula.
The Well Wishers have also had music featured on prominent major network TV shows including ABC’s “In The Motherhood” and NBC’s net hit series “Parenthood”.
