David "Double D" Daughrity is a professionally trained, lifelong student of the drums. He started playing at age 3 with his family, growing up playing along with such classic country artists as Hank Williams Sr., Merle Haggard and Johnny Cash. He gravitated to rock and southern rock as a teen, then while in the military was introduced to 80's metal and hard rock. In 1991, he began his studies at the local college as a music student and transferred to Indiana University in 1994. While there, he was immersed in music, being exposed to classical, blues, latin, jazz, and world percussion. He also studied briefly with famed drummer Kenny Aronoff and completed his Bachelor of Music in Percussion in 1998. He moved to Nashville TN in 2011. He is proficient in most contemporary styles of music on both drumkit and hand percussion. His playing style is aggressive, dynamic, and solid. He has worked with a number of local artists in both cover and original music formats. He is currently touring full time with Chris Jones and the Southern Outlaws throughout the Midwest.
