The idea was to only make a 3 track EP experiment and see how it did. A few jam out sessions later, it turned into two full length LPs. The group debuted at Trees, in Deep Ellum, on July 25th 2010 with pals, FOCO De Atelier. The group takes various genres of music such as Disco, Swing, Rock, Surf, and Lounge and sleazes it up for a grindhouse feature feel. Aristoscat likes to consider themselves “Soundtrack” music, a concept built to encompass several genres. Also, it helps show a group of musicians who are major film snobs and want to create their own idea of contemporary music in the fashion of such composers as Robert Rodriguez, Henry Mancini, Ennio Morricone & Angelo Badalamenti. Once you hear an Aristoscat album it will feel like every song was written by a different artist. Aristoscat is also driven by various other influences such as Abba, Tom Jones, The Beach Boys, Dick Dale, The BeeGees & Joy Division.
