Formed in late 2009 by brothers Ben and Avery Ellis in Columbus Nebraska, Drowning in the Platte set out to take their death/grind unit as far as it could go.
They recorded a 6 track EP titled "How's the water taste?" in September 2010 before deciding to part ways with their bass player (Jon Alt) in June 2011 to continue on as a 2 piece.
In 2011 DITP recorded their first full length album "The Flood" releasing it in March of 2012. Depressive Illusions Records out of the Ukraine released 100 copies of "The Flood" to cassette in late 2013.
In July 2013 they recorded their second full length album titled "Wetlands". In early 2014 they released 2 unmasterd tracks as limited demo " Drowning Lessons" December 2014 they finally released the "Wetlands" album.
May 2015 they began the process of recording their third full length album that has yet to be titled.
