Kirsten Ireland was born and raised in a tiny Midwestern town. Thanks to a family that constantly encouraged her artistic development, Kirsten began experimenting/creating her own music at age the of four on her grandmothers electric organ. After receiving her first guitar from her mother at age seven, she began to expand her musical scope by mimicking what she could from her parents record collection. Formal lessons in classical guitar would soon follow, opening up an entirely new world to the young artist. Kirsten went on to add violin, accordion, saxophone and percussion to her musical repertoire. Her music reflects the broad influences of the self-taught and classically trained.
With a fully stocked musical arsenal and range of tastes, Kirsten graced many stages playing many different instruments to fit a very broad range of styles. She enjoyed filling such shoes as a blues drummer, a punk bassist, an Americana/Country/Rockabilly accordionist and fiddler before finally settling down as a folk artist.
