The Velcro Shoes / Bio

The Velcro Shoes in short order delivered a bevy of original music that promises to delight for the foreseeable future. Their latest effort, “Emphatic”, will be released July 25th, 2014.

The Velcro Shoes are vocalist Eric Emerson, guitarist Bill Krowinski, drummer Garrett Bogden and Mike Slobodian on guitar and keys. Formerly of The Frauds, Eric Emerson and his late brother Ernie Jr. Emerson had played for many years, touring the United States with acts including Jet, American Minor, Guided by Voices and The Burning Brides.

Baltimore, Maryland, provided the perfect backdrop for the Emerson brothers to hookup with Krowinski, previously of Heyfield, in a collaboration that would span years and miles to produce The Velcro Shoes.

Citing musical influences as diverse as Nirvana, Bloc Party, Snowden and Phoenix, The Velcro Shoes are talented yet unfettered. Bands that put on great live shows are few and far between; seeing The Velcro Shoes live is about suddenly caring about where you’re at and the fact that you’re even there at all, before the pretense of hipsters and before jumping up and down was replaced by the head nod.
