At age 22, Peter Baldwin has opened for international recording stars Joss Stone, Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, Mayer Hawthorne, K’naan, Aloe Blacc, Theophilus London, and has played festivals with headliners Diplo and Dam-Funk.
Born and raised in Alaska, Baldwin began his music career while attending school in Orlando, Florida, and at age of 19 was instantly noted as an electrifying vocalist and live performer. In 2008, he debuted his unplugged album “I Was Here” at the Virgin Megastore in Downtown Disney and was nominated for the “Best of Orlando Award” in 2009 and 2010. In addition to headlining concerts throughout Central Florida, Baldwin continues to showcase in Miami, New York City, and Los Angeles, increasing his underground notoriety. His music is a unique cook-up of soul induced-indie rock with folk, jazz and pop undertones, a sound he calls “alternative soul.”
Baldwin aims to take things to the next level with the release of his self titled EP, (May 2011). The full band EP introduces Baldwin not only as an euphonious recording artist, but as a visionary and equally adept arranger who aims to push the boundaries of popular soul music.
