The Polite Machines / Bio

TagTeam fight of
David Bowie and James Brown Vs. Trent Reznor and Prince
With Tom Waits as the referee,
While Josh Homme and St.Vincent bet on the winner.

MiPi is the alias of Chicago born, Myrrick J. Liontonia. A wildman of a performer with a voice just 3 notes shy of a 4 octave vocal range. He is a shape shifting, genre-surfing songsmith who tells tales of the not-so-pretty side of the modern era and relays simple truths found time and time again. He is a ravenous multi-instrumentalist who has played alongside or shared the bill with many of the great Chicago musicians in our lush scene (Rival Sons, Killer Moon, Apollo House, Guerilla, Sidewalk Chalk, Goliathon, Kashmir, The Giving Tree Band, etc).

The tracks you hear at MiPi.bandcamp.com or Soundcloud.com/Mi-Pi are preformed and produced by the artist as well as MiPi is a live sound engineer by profession and a forever student in the path of recorded audio. Music of MiPi and his former band (Dogs of Fortune) was featured in the short film “Fox the Gambler”, a film that went to a number of Oscar qualifying festivals.
