BIO – CAPRICE CLASSIC
True to the meaning of her name, the music of Caprice brings a sudden desire to want to hear more. Her lyrics and melody are filled with aspiration, soul, seduction and rhythm. A student and lover of life, Caprice conveys a new twist to old school music. She grew up in Los Angeles, California listening to the strong sounds of Motown. Influenced by The Emotions, Aretha Franklin, Gladys Knight, Smokey Robinson and Marvin Gaye to name a few, Caprice has shaped a new sound, distinctive to her soulful lexis she writes herself, expressions of a life well learned, lived and loved. Her ability to passionately portray intense life lessons so many of us have experienced can only be conveyed as deeply and opulently by this woman of wisdom and familiarity.
Most notably, Caprice co-wrote LA Girls with DJ Ruff & DJ David Tort and DJ Disciple, which aired in over 52 countries. LA Girls was part of an MTV episode of The Hills. Caprice has collaborated with members of Bone-Thugs-N-Harmony, Bigg Slice (Snoop’s Personal Car Designer) and Big Chan (Doggy’s Angels). Live appearances include dates with Cedric The Entertainers group E & J , fundraiser at the Hollywood park Casino hosted by Alonzo from the World Class Wrecking Crew. Performed at Watts Up Kennels and she also completed a demo with Richard Cason one of Johnny Taylors producers called Having An Affair. Caprice studied under Shirley Brewer, a background singer with Stevie Wonder, to develop her writing and vocal abilities.
Caprice has been writing her own lyrics since 1998 and has put together a seductive group of songs as part of her first major release A Woman’s Intuition, which will launch in July 2009. This debut album promises to be well received, especially by women who are looking for a soulful sound that conveys strength.
