Cherokee.Rock.Rifle. emerged in the summer of 2010 like a plume of black smoke peeling from a wildfire burning hot through Midwest nights. Best described as one part savage, one part sweet danger, and all parts rock and roll from Kansas City, Missouri, CRR has been playing shows in and around the KC area opening for cult legends The SuperSuckers, hair rockers Jackyl, as well as performing for KC’s own Middle of the Map Festival two years in a row, MidCoast Takeover (held in Austin, TX as an un-official showcase during South by Southwest), and many other local performances. The bands first release, entitled “…And The Plains Are Burning” was made available January of 2011. It was reviewed graciously as a processional soundtrack for a journey to Hell in local publications and earned the band a nomination for Best Rock Act by the Pitch Magazine. Their upcoming release, entitled “Ta-Li” (the Cherokee word for 2), will be available in mid April and contains 6 new recordings that dare to twist the heart, bleed the ears, and free the native soul that yearns for rock and roll. Ultimately, CRR is a fun loving, whisky pounding, high energy rock show that leaves it’s audience with the feeling of having been gently trampled by a heard of sonic buffalo somewhere in the untamed plains.
