Light the Lamps is an original melodic indie rock band formed in Birmingham, Al in 2011 by songwriter, performer and Philadelphia PA native Greg Winters. After many years playing in the Philadelphia PA underground and a move down south Greg formed Light the Lamps. Their 2012 debut release entitled Infinity Lines is a six song Ep available for free download only. The music of Light the Lamps has been described as an "Indie sound that is so contagious, they call it viral." They have made the regular rotation on Birmingham Mountain Radio and in August of 2011 they were an in studio guest of Southbound with the Seale brothers. During their visit on Southbound they performed a live version of their original song Holdin on Too. Over the last few years Light the Lamps has played numerous shows in the deep south including multiple engagements at the nationally recognized Bottletree and The Nick. In August of 2013 Light the Lamps released their second Ep entitled Static Dynamics available as a free download only and are once again hitting the stage in support of it with a new line up and stage show.
The music of Light the Lamps is both unique and familar with universal themes of life, loss and the lessons learned only in hindsight.
