The Higgs Boson. A title not frequently heard of or talked about amongst the masses. The search for "Dark Matter" and "Dark Energy" that make up more than 96% of our universe. It is the undiscovered particle thought to give matter mass. The God Particle! It is also the name I've chosen for this musical endeavor.Thank you for taking the time to visit and I hope you enjoy your stay! About the Guitar....I borrow these lyrics from the song Discovery,by Rush. "Behind my beloved waterfall, in the little room that was hidden beneath the cave, I found it. I brushed away the dust of the years, and picked it up, holding it reverently in my hands. I had no idea what it might be, but it was beautiful" ... ... "I learned to lay my fingers across the wires, and to turn the keys to make them sound differently. As I struck the wires with my other hand, I produced my first harmonious sounds, and soon my own music! How different it could be from the music of the Temples! I can't wait to tell the priests about it! ..." What can this strange device be? When I touch it, it gives forth a sound. It's got wires that vibrate and give music. What can this thing be that I found? See how it sings like a sad heart. And joyously screams out its pain. Sounds that build high like a mountain. Or notes that fall gently like rain. I can't wait to share this new wonder. The people will all see its light. Let them all make their own music. The Priests praise my name on this night. Welcome to The Higgs Boson Project!
My name is Steve Morin. A lifelong resident of small town US of A!I am married to my wonderful wife Audrey and we are the proud parents of a rambunctious little boy named Garrett. Pheeew!.....what a handful he can be! But he is truly a gift to both of our lives! He is our sunshine for sure! Living in the western portion of Massachusetts, we are privileged to be able to enjoy the four seasons of mother earth, and blessed to be spared from most of her wrath. How anybody can complain about our weather is beyond me.But, people inherently need to complain about something! I picked up my first guitar when I was 13 or 14 and have never looked back. She has been a part of most all my life and has proven her ability to be a close friend no matter what life dishes out. Always waiting quietly in her case to be held and more importantly, to talk to me. She can lift you up,lower you down, join in during happy times and console during loss. She is truly a great friend! Wow! 48 years old! I guess it's fair to say that I've reached the top of the hill! At this time in one's life, all we can wish for is a controlled and hopefully predictable decent.I truly believe there is nothing we can do to alter this course, short of driving your car off a cliff! Our fate in my honest opinion, is in the hands of God.But, the choices we make in life, particularly the ones that affect the well being of other people can be the difference between smooth sailing and turbulent seas."Do unto others"....you know the rest! Some call it "Karma". So much easier said than done. But herein I believe is the only way we can alter our short stays here on earth. It is up to us to choose the paths that can lead us to the proverbial green fields and warm sunshine,or to a never ending hail storm that has no remorse.Short of preaching, the old adage holds true."We made our beds;now we must sleep in them." You might already be asking where I am going with this? The answer is that these things are the content of most of my music. Songs that provoke thought.I still stray every once in a while and revert back to my adolescent roots,(who doesn't? They were some of the best days of my life!) but for the most part I enjoy writing songs that can make people take a step back and reflect on their own lives.Ultimately, I pray that some of my music can make a difference.
