G-Money is a Musical Guyanese based group which was established in 2005. It consist of five (5) members namely Ernesta Nelson - 2011, Jamael Williams aka Jaze Cashe' - 2008, Marvin Datson aka Dappa Dogg - 2006, Levar Gittens aka De General (co-founder) - 2005 and Jamal Gittens aka Griot (co-founder) - 2005. The name G-Money is quite distinct and time relative where as the "G" is anonymous but members would say it means ‘Get’ (to achieve, to acquire). The title of the Youngest and Fastest Rising Musical group in Guyanese musical history is still owned by G-Money. The versatility of the group allows them to compose, write, publish and produce several genres of music namely Soca, R&B, Hip Hop, Dancehall, Reggae, Techno/Dubstep, World, ect. To date, the group has recorded 2 Multi-Cultured Albums titled Money Grammar & INNA WORLD, also 8 Multi-Cultured music videos. Albums & Singles are available at FCE Systems and other sources mostly online. G-Money's first recorded hit song was "Aids in Society" which then lead to G-Money making Guyanese history when they made the 1st hip hop dance video "Stand Up". The groups first stage performance was a dual served where they performed at two events in one night: Miss Guyana World 2006 & 2007, and Whats Hott Guyana. After those followed Whats Hott Guyana 2006-2009, Positive Vibes (entry song ‘Aids in Soceity’ achieving 2nd place), Guyana Soca Monarch 2007 (entry song ‘Flashlight’ achieving 5th of a hundred entries), Guyana Soca Monarch 2008 (entry song ‘Cultural Invasion’), CariFesta Concert 2008, Guy-Expo 2009 HJTV Host night and numerous school events, private parties and social events, etc. When asked who is your musical inspiration, the group members respond as follows: De General:- Pamela Gittens (mother) and Fabolous; Griot:- Pamela Gittens (mother), Notorius B.I.G and DMX; Ernesta Nelson:- Beyonce, Rihanna, Whitney Houston etc. and Jaze Cashe':- music and self fulfillment & Dappa Dogg: Mother, childhood dream, Mavado, Bob Marley, Micheal Jackson, 2Pac, etc. G-Money can comfortably say that they are inspirations and have contributed to the growth of 'a' music industry in Guyana as well as paid their dues. They group also hosted "Talent Xpress" which they introduce in 2006 every Saturday at 3:00pm but in 2011 reformed and retitled it "411" on HBTV Channel 9. Other than 4 handsome young men & 1 beautiful young lady, the show is an informative, entertaining and energetic program aimed at promoting and interviewing mostly Guyanese Talent, which captivates an audience of all ages. When G-Money is not working on music progression, other business investments, doing research, playing video games, reading or partying they are working on self advancement. One can comfortably conclude that G-Money is a all rounded Prowess collection of Guyanese talent and are conscience that their ups and downs in this journey can only bring success.
