What started out in 2008 as a 16 year old's expression of music has, over the course of three years, developed into a new and unique sound that begins with an acoustic and is taken, written, and recorded all by the sole member of Against the Current, Nick LoBosco.
It's hard to say what genre the music is; it's hard to say that all the songs are the same genre; it's hard sometimes (for myself at least) to believe that it was the same person who wrote the different tracks on the album. What's not hard to say is that you most likely have not heard anything too similar the sound I've managed to put together, and I hope you will enjoy it.
The actual instrumentation of the songs draws influences from a variety of topics. The darker topics of suicide, abandonment, anger, and hatred - to the lighter topics of love, courage, moving on, and possibilities. These are not your typical teenage lyrical set; they have been approached from different angles of experience, maturity, and in perspective all together to make a more meaningful experience from the music.
