The Generals was founded in 2002. When legendary producer and father of the "Sunlight-sound" Tomas Skogsberg heard one of the bands well-reviewed demos a couple of years later his comment was "I'll be damned, this is the best thing I've heard since Wolverine Blues!". He wanted to work with the band and produced, recorded and mixed their debut-album Stand Up Straight wich was released in 2009. The album was critically acclaimed and recieved great reviews wich was also the case with The Generals frenetic live-performances. Marcus Grahn, now writing for Sweden Rock Magazine, nailed it early on with his comment on their sound: "a death metal-cigarette with a rock'n'roll filter".
More than 300 gigs later (including festivals like Getaway o Rock festival, Rockstad Falun (main stage) and Putte i Parken and as an opening act for bands like Entombed and the Haunted) they are back with their new album Blood for Blood, produced, recored, mixed and mastered by Rickard Lövgren at Leon Studios (Vomitory, Sparzanza, Deathstars, the Scams). Their new material presents a more brutal sound even though it's both dynamic and broad.
