Delivering honest, alternative rock with carefully crafted, humble singer/songwriter lyrics.
John Thrasher was 12 years old when he attended his first concert, performed by one of his main influences, the Dave Matthews Band. It was that same year he bought his first guitar, and discovered what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. In high school, John formed his first band, Finkle and Einhorn, and covered DMB's "Grey Street" at the senior year talent show to a rousing standing ovation. In college, at the University of Georgia, John, who ironically majored in Accounting and Spanish, continued to hone his craft for live performance at any local dive that would open its doors. Even though he was mostly playing covers, John prided himself on playing an eclectic set list that drew from every genre of music. Drawing from influences like Tom Petty, Zac Brown, Ryan Adams, Bob Dylan, and Oasis, to name a few, it's that variety that would eventually influence his original work.
In late 2014, Thrasher began penning his debut, seven song EP, "Back There Again". The songs delve into every corner, both dark and bright, of a fulfilling and eventful 31 years. "My goal when I wrote this record was to account for seven defining moments in my life. There's not a person in this world that will buy this album and not be able to say, 'I've been there', to at least one song." From the upbeat power ballad, "Back There Again", to the softer, contemplative "Tucson", Thrasher shows his ability to write powerful lyrics and hooks that capture the vast spectrum of human emotion. His music is also available for film, TV, and video use with proper authorization.
He's has had the honor of sharing the stage with the likes of the Zac Brown Band, Jupiter Coyote, and American Idol finalist Michael Johns, Eric Dodd, among others.
His debut album, "Back There Again" will be available in all major online retail outlets in mid June 2015.
