Killian Ace is a five-piece band out of the Twin Cities Minnesota area. It is hard to classify their music as a certain style because each song is different than the last, and the band works hard to maintain that individuality.
Killian Ace is indie-rock, with all the ambiguity that term brings these days. Their influences include such bands as David Bowie, Misfits, Avenged Sevenfold, the Clash, the Ramones, Faith No More , Hendrix, Dio, Tenacious D Metallica and Matchbox 20. As diverse as these groups are, the individual members of Killian Ace pull from their stylings to create the unique sound that is their own.
The guitar playing ranges from simple punk rock power chords to intense power ballad melodies, all the way to crunching, heart-pounding solos. The bass guitar is smooth laid back and compelling ranging from accentuating rock grooves to free moving bass melodies. Killian Ace's drum style is also rather diverse: with influences from Avenged Sevenfold to Zepplin it is punctuated by syncopation and complex double-kick work.
The vocal style, not surprisingly, also comes from the band's biggest influences listed above, mostly David Bowie and Michael Graves, but also a touch of Mike Patton now and again. The catchy melody lines are complemented by harmonies from the rest of the band. But don't expect to hear the same voice on every song.
Killian Ace is always experimenting with new instruments and pedals to add to their distinct sound and incorporate new ideas into their music. The lyrics reach into the dreams and hearts of the band to bring the audience to the pulse of the music.
