Q: Hi Marc, I see you use an SG which is not often used by Blues players. Any reason you prefer the SG? I play one myself, mainly for its over-driven 'metal' sound.

A: Thanks for asking, John. I've been using an SG since 1972, before that I played a Guild Starfire III, which I still have and use occasionally. A friend lent me his SG for a recording session and I fell in love with its sound and feel, so I bought one. I love guitars with Humbuckers, don't like playing Strats and Tele casters. I have tried Les Pauls, 335s and a few others, but none of them responded to me the way my SG does. It also has a lovely warm sound when I play Jazz tunes, so yeah ~ works for me :) You're right, not many Blues players seem to favour SGs, but I saw Lonnie Brooks play one and it seems to be Derek Trucks' fave axe, so that speaks volumes. Thanks for connecting, all the very best to you ~ Marc :)
