MUSIC FESTIVAL AT CAPATINS FLAT 60 KLMS FROM CANBERRA SAT 24TH AND SUNDAY 25 JAN 2015 REGIONAL AND NATIONAL MUSIC ACTS FREE CAMPING FAMILY FRIENDLY EXOTIC FOOD AND ART STALLS MUSIC WORKSHOPS Beginning Saturday 24th Jan 2015 at 12.00 noon in Captains Flat 60 Klms south of the nation’s capital Canberra. There will be 2 soundstages running alternatively providing continuous entertainment from an excellent variety of musical acts as diverse as Blues, Rock, Country, Metal, singer / songwriter, Funk, Dixieland, Bluegrass and indie rock. Taking the stage will be Phil Emmanuel, Chris Webbe, Beth and Ben, Roger Bone Band, Sweaty Palms, Eyes to the Sky, The Moochers Inc, Cherie Kotek Lane, James Fahy, Guyy, Rumshack, Annie and the Armadillos, Novia Scotia, Chris Harland Band and a mass jam on the Sunday night to top it off before everyone goes about their Australia day festivities on Monday 26th which is a holiday. All the artists have CDs out will be doing their original material. Many of the performers have been chosen with an eye on crowd involvement. For example Cheri Kotek Lane does drumming workshops where she gets the audience to participate. With the Tallaganda State forest on one side and the Tinderry Nature reserve on the other, many Canberrans may have heard of Captains Flat but never visited it. Heading from Canberra to the coast on the Kings Hwy, turn right a few klms after leaving Queanbeyan and the Captains Flat road will take you straight there. The recent opening of the new bridge in town has seen a flurry of activity and interest from the regions tourists. You will have access to the free camping on Fri afternoon. There will be rides and things for the kids to do, plus music workshops and interesting art and craft stalls from artists from the Canberra region. Stay for one night or two, weekend passes are only $40 or $25 for a day pass for the Sat or Sun. Come join the fun and be a part of your community! The Martinsville Community Center is hosting its annual Fall Festival on Saturday, 10/11 from 11am-3:00pm. There will be games for children, pumpkin painting, and face painting plus live entertainment by the Quarry Lane Band.
