In Paradise

  • Sun

    Nov 1

    Worcester, WOR, UK | 3:00pm

The Band of Rogues is a three band union between Stompin' on Spiders, The Grimaldi's and The Players that will be providing a full afternoon of music in the same tradition as the now defunct "Acoustic Lunch" that once ran at The Old Rectifying House in Worcester. The Marrs Bar is the setting for this new and exciting partnership that will see the three bands (all trios) taking the stage to perform individually and then together for one big finale, in grand showbiz style. There is a cover charge for admission for this event.

Bio: Stompin' on Spiders stripped-back acoustic blues/rock style blends the traditional ethos of blues music with a very modern edge. It is the "new tradition" some pundits have claimed; a radical mix of blues and acoustic rock that is inspired by everyday events and experiences of 21st Century life. ...See Full Bio

“BAND: Stompin' On Spiders. ALBUM: Nothing To Declare. There is something very Australian in feel when you listen to this album and it comes of no surprise that some of the members of the band have spent some time over there, it's a sheer delight of a record and it just sounds excellent. Songs like "Brasshouse Lane" and "Night On The Tiles" all have warmth and texture, beautiful guitars and real blues movements carved all over. I'd listen to this record louder for sure if I was to drive into a armed police roadblock at over 80 mph. It's got plenty of balls and even fanny bits on this album. Order it today if you want a road-trip on your iPod! ”

Q: What's your favourite open tuning Gazza?

A: At the moment I have a fancy for Open D. This is DADF#AD. I am using this to practise my Blues side techniques. It's harder than I thought. Anyhow, later in the year, I'll put out a guide to all the tunings that are used by SoS. So watch this space....
