Singer/songwriter veteran, Mac McAnally, is also a producer, session player, publisher, band member, studio owner, comic, story teller, and so on, a basic modern day William Faulkner living in the music industry.
Mac has recorded 11 studio albums all on major record labels, and has written multiple #1 records for the Country Music charts as well as others that roamed the top 40 Pop charts. He has won 3 CMA Musician of the Year Awards in 2008, 2009, and 2010 and is nominated once again this year. Over 30 national recording artists have recorded songs written by Mac. He has produced records for Little Feat, Sawyer Brown, Jimmy Buffett, Ricky Skaggs, and more. Mac was the first artist ever to be signed by David Geffen for Geffen Records; the next couple of artists Geffen signed were John Lennon and Elton John.
Artists such as Roy Orbison, Hank Williams Jr., Amy Grant, Travis Tritt, Linda Rondstadt, Nanci Griffith, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Reba McEntire, Dolly Parton, Alabama, Patty Loveless, etc., have hired Mac for his guitar playing or vocal harmonies.
This year Mac is set to release a brand new album: Live In Muscle Shoals. This new CD captures special performances of Mac singing old favorites such as "Down The Road", "All These Years", "Back Where I Come From", and also a cover of the popular tune "I Heard It Through The Grapevine." Many artists like Kenny Chesney, Sawyer Brown and Jimmy Buffet have recorded these songs and taken them to the tops of the charts!
Mac is currently writing and producing multiple projects as well as performing dates with Jimmy Buffett and his Coral Reefer Band.
