Strong willed, Charismatic, Entrepreneur, and Determined are just a few words to describe the versatile entertainer Omillio Sparks. Born Kenneth W. Johnson, in the Bottom section of West Philadelphia, Sparks saw from a young boy the harsh realities presented to many people living in rough neighborhoods. Determined to be different from those he saw and to prove that with strong will power and a passion for work, Sparks took to music (rap) as a form of escape. He used his charismatic presence, combine it with a passion for hip hop, added a sense of education of street life and equaled out a beat and words that every male or female that struggled could relate too and see that there are people out there that understand them and how music is just one form of positive expression. Recently, Sparks was a part of the Roc-A-Fella rap duo “Oschino & Sparks” and a member of the Philadelphia rap collective “State Property.” Overtime, Sparks realized he wanted to start his own company and find talented young rap artists like himself and give them the chance to verbalize themselves through music. Sparks sees himself as someone influential in the rap game and wants to give the unknown Philadelphia rappers their time to shine; he has graced the entertainment field with featured performances on hit TV stations such as MTV and HBO. While the music game is important to this young artist, Sparks realized that education is key. Sparks took the time out to attend Strayer University with research at the University of Pennsylvania, maintain a 3.0 GPA, while still working on independent projects. Also he has starred in movies, documentaries and has been featured in various articles and is now ready to continuously put Philadelphia rap artists on the music scene. After overcoming numerous pitfalls, Sparks now takes the time out to speak with men whom are incarcerated and let them know they still have a chance to turn their life around and make a difference in the community.
