Lady Joya / Bio

Melonie Davis (stage name Lady Joya) was born in Waco, Texas. Lady Joya is the daughter of an Air Force Musician who moved his family back to his hometown of Cincinnati. By the age of six, Lady Joya aspired to be a singer. She spent her elementary and high-school days performing in choir and musical theater productions. Lady Joya has also competed in several Pageants i.e., Hal Jacksons International Talented Teens and The Miss Black Cincinnati Pageant, increasing her confidence and stage presence. Lady Joya's talents as a Singer/Songwriter are featured on The Red Hounds CD entitled "Red Hounds and Friends". This studio project only increased her desire to perform onstage. The Bass Player of The Red Hounds, Victor Smith, invited Lady Joya to sing background vocals for his band Soul Progression. From there, Lady Joya has lent her vocals to various bands, i.e., Out of Order Band, Jay's Experience, Groove Crew, and Grooveshire, just to name a few. After auditioning, Lady Joya accepted the Lead Female Vocalist Position of The Juice Band. Lady Joya has expressed great gratitude to the family members of the late Ms. II Juicy as they have embraced and welcome her to The Juice Family. Joya means to REJOICE. This is the experience Lady Joya want you to encounter on the dance floor every time you attend a "Juice" party.
