When I was only two-years-old, my mother, a drug addict, abandoned the family and left me and my older brother in the care of our alcoholic father. When I was ten dad disappeared and I found myself shuffled between many households in a total of three different states. I turned to smoking, drinking, and sex, all the while trying to find my identity as kid. By the age of 16 I had three felonies on my record and it looked like I was going to become just another statistic
Desperate for change at 16 and finally fed up with all of the "tragedies", I found myself at a youth summer camp in Running Springs, CA where I accepted Christ. It was not the well put together sermons or the impressive buildings or campsites that drew me to God; It was Love! Ordinary people simply loving on me; the power of love.
A year after giving my life to Christ I discovered a passion for songwriting and worship leading. I started to develop myself by attending the Musician’s Institute in Hollywood, CA where I earned my Journeyman’s Certificate in "Commercial Music." Shortly after, I attended Hope International University (HIU) where I received a B.S. in Christian Ministry/Biblical Studies.
For the past 15 years I have been working hard leading worship, writing songs and developing as an artist. In September of 2009 I released my first full-length record entitled "Outshine". I also just recently released an EP entitled, "Where Darkness Dies". Both of these projects are available to download for free at:
Today I have a family of my own; A wife and 2 wonderful children. It is my heart's desire to serve God well, love my family and be a blessing and encouragement to others.
Among the many victories, life still gets tough. At times I find myself walking through hardship, struggling with my faith and crying out in confusion to God. At times I feel like I am dodging spears thrown by some of the most unlikely people. It's In these moments that we get to see how real we are about Him, as well as how real He is about us. God continuously proves Himself faithful in my life.
Through music it's my desire to paint a magnificent picture of who God really is... It's because of Him that we find the strength to stand and fight through each battle, to find joy when it seems completely out of context and it all starts with giving God the worship He deserves.
