Bad Touch blend rythmic heavy rock with funky blues and always give a professional, energetic stage show. This Dereham-based five-piece rock band has gone from strength to strength since forming back in 2009 thanks to the members' hard work and determination.
2013 was a fantastic year for Bad Touch, which started with the release of three singles through Animal Farm records– 'Set the night on fire', 'Too late' and 'Mirror Man'. These tracks form the backbone of their newly released CD 'Down and Out' – a fine mix of rock originals taken from their two previous EP's.
In a year of highlights, touring the UK with The Quireboys and Bonafide was definitely up there as the boys opened the show in O2 Academies and Student Unions from Glasgow to Falmouth, spreading the word nationwide and picking up plenty of new fans along the way. The success of this tour has led to Bad Touch being announced as tour support once again for Bonafide when they return to these shores in March 2014.
As if that wasn't enough, the Bad Touch boys won the Marshall Ultimate Band Contest in November 2013,despite stiff competition from over 400 bands. The band reached the final thanks to fan votes, and were judged the winners of the contest by a panel of experts – Their prize – A year's endorsement with Marshall Amplification and a prized slot at the 2014 Download Festival alongside the likes of Aerosmith and Status Quo.
Back in 2012, Bad Touch were voted Best Live Act at the Exposure Music Awards, thanks to their lively, fun and unique stage presence. They were also awarded with slots at the coveted Hard Rock Hell weekend in Wales and the Cambridge Rock Festival, as well as performing at some of the best venues in the Capital, including the O2 Academy Islington and the 100 Club.
2012 also saw the release of their 'Live at the Mill Studios' EP, a representation of the band's meticulous approach to song writing and recording well beyond their years. All 4 tracks have spent a combined total of 15 weeks at number one in the UK Unsigned Chart during late 2012 and 2013. This followed their first EP 'Born to Please', released in 2011 and recorded under the watchful eye of Nick Brine at Leeders Farm; the EP sold out shortly after its release.
With plenty of recording time under their belts, and an insatiable appetite for performing live for their loyal fans old and new, the next promises to be a great one for Bad Touch. With Download and the Bonafide tour confirmed, as well as two performances at Les-Fest, a return to the Reepham Music Festival and a headline slot at the Rock Your Age Festival, their catchy beats and heavy riffs will be ringing in yours ears for the whole of 2014.
