Kepstar, born Christopher Gonzalez, is a rising Hip Hop star from Queens, New York. After moving around as a child, Kep eventually found his home in Maspeth, NY at the age of six. As an energetic and troublesome youth, Kepstar found solace in writing rhymes. Injecting the pain, frustration, and confusion of his day to day struggles into his writing, Kep found an escape from the past times that led him to trouble’s door. With his new found voice, Kep was able to catch the attention and respect of local producers, promoters, and artists which provided for the foundation of his loyal fan base throughout Queens. Realizing that his way with words was in fact a gift, Kep began grinding, performing at clubs and releasing music online for the next several years. At the age of sixteen, he decided to take a leap of faith and drop out of high school in order to work a full time job that would provide him with the financial means to pursue his dreams of making music professionally. Now only twenty-one years old, Kepstar has been turning heads with the release of his mixtape "Shades Of Gray". The mixtape not only boasts several notable features such as Joe Budden, Termanology and producer J. Cardim, but is also hosted by renowned mixtape dj, Clinton Sparks. Working hard and perfecting his talents since the age of twelve, Kepstar sets himself apart in this flooded music industry with impeccable delivery and lyricism as well as a sincerity and emotion that is laced throughout every track he creates. Kep’s popularity began to skyrocket with the inception of his new hashtag concept #RedCupSippin. The concept was developed from countless parties, studio sessions, and late nights in which Kep found himself surrounded by the familiar red cups. With the support and alliance of rising production team, Grand Staff, whose credits include the likes of Jim Jones, Fabolous, Wiz Khalifa, Chris Brown, and more, Kep has harnessed a new sound for himself that speaks to the scores of #RedCupSippin youth just like him. Rumors have been circling online that he is preping for an official mixtape release in the spring of 2013. Nonetheless, the future for Kepstar is safe to say.....stellar.
