TIN WHISTLE plays an eclectic variety of classic rock hits from decades past, along with modern tunes and a few originals, mixing faithful recreations of the original recordings with unique, exciting interpretations of songs we all know and love.
TIN WHISTLE formed in January, 2010 and has been performing live music in the Triangle for over three years.
TIN WHISTLE is:
Steve Gaudioso - Guitar and vocals. Steve is from upstate New York and began playing with Rochester-area bands at a very early age. During his years in Salt Lake City, he played with several bands, including the semi-infamous "Killer Tomatoes".
Mike Ricca - Guitar and vocals. Mike hails from Long Island, New York and played extensively in and around the New York City club scene at clubs like The Bitter End and Kenny’s Castaways. He is also a veteran of the Raleigh club scene.
Gene Rotberg - Bass and vocals. Gene comes from Chicago and played with several blues bands before relocating to Raleigh. He started the Buffalo Theory band, and then moved on to form TIN WHISTLE.
Gregg Pivec - Drums and percussion. Gregg is from Hanover, PA. He is the always-enthusiastic driving force behind TIN WHISTLE.
All 4 members of TIN WHISTLE are certifiable music fanatics. They draw from their wide variety of influences and tastes to create an eclectic blend of inspired rock ‘n roll. Three part harmonies and solid instrumentals are integral to the TIN WHISTLE sound. The band regularly adds new songs, consistently changing setlists and song arrangements to keep things fresh and exciting. Most of all, TIN WHISTLE is a band of friends who have an absolute blast playing together. Their musical enthusiasm and kinship are reflected in their warm, exciting live performances.
A typical TIN WHISTLE show will feature songs by: The Beatles, The Black Keys, The Band, Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, Traffic, Phish, Neil Young, Cream, Grateful Dead, Eric Clapton, Crosby Stills and Nash, Allman Brothers, etc., etc.
