Hailing out of Minneapolis, music artist Envy is a triple threat, conquering music charts with his unique skill for rapping, composition, and lyrics, to create radio-friendly Hip Hop. Envy comes from an area that's had it's share of unique artists, such as Prince, Bob Dylan, and even The Andrews Sisters. However, Envy is no new kid on the block, and instead has made several significant accomplishments on the music scene. His new single “# MCM (Man Crush Monday)” is now available on all major music services, including Apple's iTunes store.
A perfect soundtrack for the summer, “#MCM (Man Crush Monday)” sings about the ubiquitous hashtag for desired men. Envy's previous singles have performed well, with “Ringtone” charting on the Billboard charts for 16 consecutive weeks and was #1 for six weeks. The video went on to receive over one million views on YouTube. His talent extends beyond radio play and online streams, with his music making notable appearance on the big and small screen. Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Orange is the New Black, and Married to Jonas have all featured Envy's music while in theaters, moviegoers were treated to his music during Piranha 3D, Harold and Kumar, and the recent Kevin Hart film, Ride Along.
Envy is a prolific artist who honed his music skills after suffering a personal tragedy. After losing his sister at age 17, he decided to work through his grief with creative expression, entering MC battles and improving his lyrics. Envy has created a sound that lets listeners see a new side to Hip Hop. “My music is different, innovative and trendy. There's a lot that is happening in the industry and on the radio right now. My goal is to get people to appreciate good music again,” he says. Envy doesn't follow trends, he sets them, and with “#MCM (Man Crush Monday),” he brings his sound to a global audience. He's released three studio albums so far, including The Pulse, Upper Echelon, and EOE (Evolution of Envy), and shows no signs of stopping. Currently, he's hard at work in the studio creating the next hot track.
“#MCM (Man Crush Monday)” can be downloaded right now from all major digital music outlets.
