Anchor Atlantic started performing their original music in the Summer of 2010, the crowds and stages quickly started growing. Opening for bands such as Sick Puppies, Less Than Jake, Paper Tongues, Panic! At The Disco, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, The Airborne Toxic Event, AWOLNATION and many more national touring acts and playing large local venues including Vinoy Park and The St. Pete Times Forum. Their original sound comes from a wide variety of influences ranging from early jazz to classic rock. Anchor Atlantic was recently named runner-up in the Best Local Pop Act category of Creative Loafing's Best of the Bay issue. Driven by Mikayla Winner's soulful vocals and fluid tenor saxophone, Colin Hughes' shredding guitar riffs, Luke Albright's copious keyboard lines, and David Hart's stupefying drum beats - Anchor Atlantic continues to develop their overall sound into something well worth listening to.
