I was born and spent my early life in the beautiful city of Kabul, Afghanistan. Although war had been raging all around me, I managed to find plenty of love and affection all around and most noticeably within my family. Having been surrounded by a universe full of beauty, I was always fascinated by it and all that made it possible, nature, life and freedom. No different than most any child, I was curious about everything that I could imagine or experience. When alone in my bedroom, I remember turning the light on and off constantly in an effort to catch the light beam penetrate the darkness. Needless to say, I did not succeed in my endeavor, however I was not discouraged. I used to take apart household electronics to find out what made them work; mostly, I did not know how to put some of them back together but I never stopped asking questions and attempting to find answers. I went on to make my own chicken hatching machine, but I never got to test it out because as valuable as eggs were, I could not waste a large number of them just to see if my machine worked. My next project involved making a semi-functional electric sock washing machine. It was simple and it did work, but I could not wash more than one pair of sock at a time and washing one pair pretty much took forever.
